The supply of water under the Panbazar Water Treatment Plant of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) will be suspended...

Digital Desk: The supply of water under the Panbazar Water Treatment Plant of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) will be suspended for two days, i.e., on June 12 and 13. 

This was informed through a notice released by the Joint Commissioner of GMC on Friday. The water supply disruption is due to the modification and relocation of the existing 600 mm raw water pumping main from the intake point to the Panbazar Water Treatment Plant, the notice said.

The notice added that the water supply would be restored once the work was completed. The authorities have also asked residents of the 16 impacted areas to be patient with the situation. The areas that will face the problem are Pub Sarania, South Sarania, Rajgarh, Gandhi Basti, Ulubari, Bhangagarh, B. Barua Road, Lachit Nagar, Kachari Basti, Rehabari, Fancy Bazar, Paltanbazar, A.T Road, Athgaon, Panbazar, Chatribari.
