A Rapido driver was brutally attacked by four intoxicated youths near the bus stand in Ganeshguri...

Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a Rapido driver was brutally attacked by four intoxicated youths near the bus stand in Ganeshguri at around 1 AM on Thursday.

The horrific attack, captured on camera, has sparked outrage over the lack of immediate police intervention.

The victim, identified as Dipjyoti Thakuria, was approached by a group of four drug-intoxicated youths, who demanded money. When Thakuria refused to give them money, the assailants attacked Thakuria, beating him with bricks and helmets for a mere Rs 200. Notably, two of the attackers arrived on a scooty while the other two came in an auto.

Thakuria's scooty was destroyed in the brutal incident, and the driver sustained serious injuries. At the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Thakuria, who has a young daughter and often works as a daily wage worker to support his family, was left waiting without the necessary funds for a CT scan.

It is disturbingly claimed that the Dispur police, who had just arrived on the spot, simply took a video of the incident and then left without carrying out a proper investigation or carrying out any other actions. The public has widely condemned this alleged incompetence, raising grave questions about police responsibility.

Journalists on duty at night eventually provided Thakuria with the financial assistance to acquire essential medical care. Their support allowed him to undergo a CT scan.
