Digital Desk: A terrible fire incident occurred in Guwahati, claiming the life of Naresh Shahani, a dedicated guard at the Mahendra Mohan Laheri Children's Park.

Shahani, who had been employed at the park for nearly 20 years, was burnt alive in the devastating blaze.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.

On Monday morning, authorities, including the fire brigade and police, recovered Shahani's charred body from the scene.

Reports indicate that he was sleeping deeply when the fire broke out, leaving him unable to escape.

Interestingly, there is no evidence of the fire spreading to any other part of the residence.

Beltola police arrived at the site and recovered the lifeless body of Naresh Shahani.
