Digital Desk: The body of a North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM) College student was discovered under mysterious conditions in the hostel in Beltola, Guwahati.
The deceased student, identified as 24-year-old Baltigo K. Changma was originally from neighbouring state Meghalaya.
Changma was in his 6th semester of LLB studies at NERIM, one of Assam's leading educational institutions.
According to reports, the young man had been struggling with mental health issues for a prolonged period.
His lifeless body was found in the bathroom of his hostel room.
The college authorities and fellow students have chosen not to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, the Dispur police arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem.
An investigation has been underway to determine the exact cause of the student's untimely death.
