Digital Desk: A shocking incident has come to light in Sontali's Malibari of Kamrup district, where village head Abbas Ali was caught on camera engaging in violent and unlawful behaviour.
Disguising himself as a moral authority, Abbas and his gang of hooligans were seen forcibly dragging a man named Rahijuddin and attempting to drown him in the water.
The appalling act was captured in a video, exposing Abbas' blatant misuse of power.
In addition to this, accusation have surfaced against Abbas Ali for brutally assaulting Rahijuddin's elderly father.
The incident reportedly occurred in the 2nd Malibari field of Sontali in South Kamrup.
According to reports, the violence stemmed from a dispute over paddy left on the road after Rahijuddin's side had harvested it from the field.
Following the argument, Abbas and his gang allegedly launched a severe attack on several individuals.
The situation escalated further when the injured family members were being transported to seek medical care, Abbas and his group reportedly dragged them back from the car and continued their assault.
Abbas and his associates have also been accused of breaking into homes, stealing valuable and looting Rs 1.2 lakh, as claimed by the victims.
The victims have since filed a formal complaint against Abbas and several others at Mandira police station, seeking justice for the horrific incident.
