Nadda will shortly leave the state, and Shah will attend a meeting with the chief ministers to discuss drugs.

Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda inaugurated the party's newly-built state office in Assam's capital, Beltola, and are scheduled to address a rally of party workers on Saturday.

The building will be one lakh square feet in size and will include cutting-edge amenities such as a guest house and a modern media centre.

According to officials, the structure can hold 5,000 people at once.

Another top party leader added that the new structure, worth Rs 25 crore, was built with donations from party workers.

Nadda will then leave the state, while Shah will attend a narcotics meeting with the chief ministers, chief secretaries, and director-general of police from the Northeastern states.

The Union minister, who will be in Assam for three days beginning Friday, will also preside over a review meeting of the North Eastern Space Application Centre (NESAC) in the evening.

On Sunday, Shah will offer prayers at Kamakhya Temple and address the North East Council (NEC) plenary session at the Administrative Staff College.

On Sunday afternoon, he will depart for Dergaon in Golaghat district to inaugurate the state-level superintendents of a police conference. He will then fly from Jorhat airport to New Delhi.
