Digital Desk: In a recent development, the Government Railway Police (GRP) stationed at Kamakhya Railway Station in Guwahati apprehended an individual and confiscated counterfeit gold from him. The incident occurred during a routine inspection around 11 am on Friday.

The suspect, identified as Alok Kumar from Bihar, was found in possession of a boat-shaped golden item weighing approximately 1,500 grams. Hailing from Patori village in the Saharsha district, Kumar was intercepted at platform number 2/3 of the station.

Upon examination, authorities determined the item to be fake. While Kumar was taken into custody and the bogus gold seized, investigations into the matter are underway.

This incident underscores the vigilance of law enforcement agencies in combating counterfeit activities. 

As the investigation progresses, more details are anticipated to emerge regarding the origins and intentions behind the possession of the forged gold item.
