Digital Desk: Heavy rainfall battered parts of Guwahati early on September 1, causing flash floods throughout the city.

The relentless downpour has led to widespread inundation in several areas, creating significant difficulties for residents.

Localities such as Chandmari, Beltola, Hatigaon, Six-mile, Noonmati, and Kahilipara are particularly affected, with stormwater causing severe flooding.

The urban floods are expected to disrupt traffic as roads remain submerged throughout the day due to the ongoing rainfall.

In response to the situation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Guwahati's Regional Meteorological Centre have issued a warning of heavy rainfall, especially in the Dispur and Sonapur areas.
