Digital Desk: Assam Police is once again under scrutiny for an alleged police brutality incident under the jurisdiction of Bharalumukh police station, Guwahati.
In a deeply concerning incident, Vijay Kalita, a roadside chicken pakora seller, accused Bharalumukh police of subjecting him to inhuman torture, which made him disabled.
The brutal torture dates back to 2018 when Vijay was assaulted by police personnel for setting up his stall on the roadside.
The assault left him seriously injured, with injuries to the back of his head.
Though he did not realize the severity of the injury at that time, recent medical evaluations brought the entire incident to light.
Doctors at the hospital confirmed that the injury to his head dates back several years, uncovering the truth behind the assault.
After the attack, Vijay has now been undergoing treatment at the Jalukbari Ayurvedic Hospital for the past four months. Unfortunately, Vijay has been diagnosed with complete paralysis.
Due to the financial strain and living with elderly parents, Vijay Kalita has appealed to the people of Assam for assistance.
This inhuman torture, which tarnishes the image of the Assam police, has sparked widespread outrage across the region.
