The restrictions on the movement of goods carrying vehicles will be imposed on September 22 during the visit of the Hon'ble Vice President of India.

Digital Desk: Guwahati traffic Police issued new traffic guidelines ahead of the arrival of Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday for the inauguration ceremony of Lokmanthan 2022.

The new guidelines were announced by the officials through a press release on Wednesday.


The press release stated that to ensure the safety of the Public, especially vulnerable road users like children, students, women, senior citizens, differently-abled persons, etc. on the road and to give free passage to the emergency vehicles like Ambulances, Fire tenders, etc.

It further mentioned that the restrictions on the movement of goods carrying vehicles will be imposed on September 22 during the visit of the Hon'ble Vice President of India.

The guidelines are:

  • Plying of goods carrying vehicles of 6 wheels and above shall be restricted on NH - 27 and NH - 17 falling under Guwahati City from 7.00 AM to 6.00 PM on 22nd September, 2022 .
  • Plying of goods carrying vehicles ( small / medium / heavy ) shall be restricted on D.G Road , A.T Road , M.G. Road , K.L.B. Road , Taibullah Road , G.N.B. Road , B. Boruah Road , G.S. Road and Panjabari Road from 9.00 A.M to 3.30 P.M on 22nd September , 2022 .
