Guwahati: A picnic that is supposed to be full of fun and frolic, devoid of tensions of regular life, turned tragic for one after a youth who had gone for a picnic with friends fell into the Brahmaputra River. The youth is still untraceable as search operation continues.

The youth identified as Shiva Lahkar, went for a picnic at Mariyapatti, Amingaon with friends, reportedly fell of a boat into the Brahmaputra River on January 11, 2021.

While Lahkar’s other friends managed to swim across the river bank, Lahkar has not been found to date. The police and SDRF teams reached the spot immediately after the complaint was filed and started the rescue operation.
