The influenza A virus subtype H3N2, which is particularly prevalent in children and the elderly between December and March, is the common flu virus.

Digital Desk: With the H3N2 influenza virus, India has so far reported two deaths. According to data from the ministry, the nation recorded 5,451 cases of H3N2 between January 2 and March 5. Mansukh Mandaviya, the minister of health for the union, has urged states to be on high alert and make sure the situation is properly monitored in light of "increasing" cases.

Based on their observations of the flu patients visiting clinics and hospitals this season, doctors have been disseminating information to the general public.

Here are the symptoms doctors are observing in flu patients in India

  •  The most severe symptoms resemble seasonal flu viruses. Fever and respiratory signs like a cough and runny nose are some of them.
  • Body aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea are some more symptoms that may appear.
  • Patients occasionally also experience excruciating muscular pain
  • Individuals with pneumonia-like symptoms have also been admitted to hospitals.
  • Individuals are increasingly coming in with "post viral syndrome such severe cough" and needing "oral medicine and nebulizers."
  •  Several elderly patients have been observed to lose consciousness.
  • Another symptom that has been noted is ear fullness, which many patients have been mentioning as early as days five or six of their sickness. They have a plugged, blocked feeling inside their ears. Young adults are particularly prone to this symptom.
