Nessa reportedly carried beef to the school on the day of Gunotsav in the state.

Digital Desk: The Assam Police arrested a headmistress of a government school for allegedly carrying beef for lunch in a school in the Goalpara district. 

According to reports, the headmistress, identified as Dalima Nessa, works at the Hurkachungi ME School of the district. Nessa reportedly carried beef to the school on the day of Gunotsav in the state.

Reports further claimed that the 56-year-old Dalima had been booked under the sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups based on religion, race, place of birth or residence) and 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to offend religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs).

It is to be noted that a complaint has been filed against her by the school management committee, and on Sunday, she was brought for inquiry.

It may be mentioned that after interrogation, Nessa was arrested by the police officials on the matter.
