Digital Desk: Today, at Bajpayee Bhawan, Himanta Biswa Sarma was officially declared the leader of both the BJP Legislature Party and the NDA Legislature Party, paving the way for his second consecutive term as the Chief Minister of Assam.


The formal announcement was made by J. P. Nadda in the presence of party leaders and legislators.


Addressing the media after being elected leader, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the NDA Council of Ministers will take oath on 12th May in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


He appealed to the people of Assam to continue blessing the government and said the NDA aims to transform Assam into one of the most developed states in the country. He also expressed gratitude to Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia for his support.


Dr. Sarma further stated that the NDA leadership will soon meet the Governor of Assam to stake claim to form the next government in the state.
