Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader requests to include the Hindus of the Barpeta district in the minority group.

BJP MLA Mrinal Saikia, during his visit to Barpeta district to investigate the land encroachment of Satra’s, said, “The minority status which has been given to protect a community should be given to the Hindus of the Barpeta district. It is reported that the livestock of the Hindu people were stolen and now they were forced to leave their place. It is very pathetic to hear such things.”
