The remainder of the Assam Assembly session will be held at the Assam Legislative Assembly in Guwahati on Wednesday. The session will continue till March 22.

Digital Desk: The inaugural sitting of the Assam Legislative Assembly session outside the state capital was held on Monday in Kokrajhar, the headquarters of the Bodoland Territorial Region. The first sitting, presided over by Speaker Biswajit Daimary, was held in the building of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya opened the session with a speech, saying this move would bring the people of different places together.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma called the opening day of the session a "historic day for Assam." He also termed it the "highest point" of his career, as the hosting of the Assam Assembly sitting is testimony to sustained peace and integration in the state.

Governor Acharya in his speech said that the session will give an opportunity to the government to reflect on the journey, prepare for the challenges, and create a roadmap for the future.
