For a long time, performers were rehearsing for this event, and auditions were held all around the state to choose the finest of the best for this big event.

Digital Desk: With "The largest Bihu performance in a single venue," Assam created history and cemented its place in the record books. The massive attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records involved over 11,000 Bihuwotis and Dhuliyas.

The record was created on April 13 at around 5.30 pm at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati. It had originally been scheduled for April 14 with PM Narendra Modi present, but it was preponed.

The massive Bihu performance's goal was to break the previous record for the biggest Bihu dance performance in one location. With this amazing initiative, the government of Assam, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, is determined to make the Rongali Bihu of 2023 a big celebration.

For a long time, performers were rehearsing for this event, and auditions were held all around the state to choose the finest of the best for this big event.

CM Sarma had earlier expressed optimism that the occasion will promote Assam and its rich cultural history on a global scale.
A world record attempt for the largest Bihu dance in a single frame and another for the largest (Dhuliya) drummer ensemble were also announced by the chief minister.

On this occasion, the state government also got the certificate for "Assamese Gamusa," which received a GI tag.
