Digital Desk: In a tragic incident in Dokhola village, Palashbari, a former home guard, Jitumoni Das, lost his life following a violent altercation with another home guard, Nayan Das. Both of them were from the same village.
The news has sparked widespread unrest across the southern Kamrup region.
Reports indicate that the conflict arose from a monetary dispute between them.
The situation escalated on Tuesday night, leading to a physical confrontation that left Jitumoni critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Nayan Das, currently stationed at the Palashbari police station, was later apprehended by the Bijaynagar police.
According to statements from Nayan, the two had previously shared a close friendship.
