Digital Desk: The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected Vice-Chancellors of seven universities in Assam was held at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati on Friday.


The Governor of Assam Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath.


Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Education Minister Ranoj Pegu attended the ceremony, along with senior officials of the state government.


The newly appointed Vice-Chancellors are as follows:


Dr. Hitesh Deka - Nagaon University

Professor Dr Jyoti Prasad Saikia - Jagannath Barooah University

Professor Mahadev Patgiri - Sibsagar University

Professor Mukul Bora - North Lakhimpur University

Professor Tarini Chandra Deka - Bongaigaion University

Professor Niranjan Roy - Gurucharan University

Professor Ganesh Chandra Wary - Kokrajhar University
