Mass resignation from Twitter after the concerns raised about the hard-working environment, which resulted in to start of a meme fest trending with...

Digital Desk: On Friday, when the hashtag "RIP Twitter" began trending on the microblogging service, Elon Musk uploaded multiple cryptic remarks, sparking severe concerns among internet users about the platform's future.

The "Chief Twit" began by posting an emoji of a black pirate flag with a skull and crossbones. In a subsequent tweet, he included a meme depicting a burial scene, in which Twitter appears to be buried.

Notably, an image of a human skull over a pair of crossed bones warns of "death or peril," according to Collins Dictionary.

Internet users reacted quickly to Mr Musk's remarks. While some people contributed amusing memes, others simply stated, "Twitter is a dead website."

In the meantime, Mr. Musk had earlier made a more downbeat statement, suggesting that Twitter would survive because the staff who have chosen to stay are the "best people." Don't want to jinx things, but there's a chance we can keep Twitter alive, he added in a separate tweet.

However, when hundreds of staff left in response to Elon Musk's ultimatum to commit to a "hardcore" work environment or leave, concerns have been expressed about the micro-blogging website's ability to continue operations smoothly.

Since taking over Twitter last month, the internet mogul has fired around half of the workers, scrapped a work-from-home policy, and imposed punishing hours. His efforts to reform user authentication with a contentious subscription service have also resulted in a spate of fraudulent accounts, prompting large advertisers to abandon the network.

Despite this, Mr Musk continues to claim that Twitter is at an all-time high in terms of usage.
