However, the 'In Memoriam' section neglected to pay tribute to the work and memories of two late renowned Bollywood superstars, Dilip Kumar and vocalist Lata Mangeshkar. Dilip Kumar left for his heavenly abode on July 7, 2021, and Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022. Both individuals were recently honoured with moving obituaries at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) earlier this month. On social media, many followers have voiced their outrage and disappointment. One Twitter user claimed that Lata gave vocals to more songs than “shown in all Oscars combined, tet, the #Oscars2022 #Inmemoriam did not see it fit to honor her even with a mention.
