Digital Desk: A female government official working with the Department of Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward classes, was caught red-handed while accepting bribe in Assam Secretariat today.
The female government employee was caught red handed while accepting a bribe money of Rs 4,000.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption cell apprehended the official identified as Seema Devi.
The Vigilance team also recovered another INR 99,000 from her bag during the search operation.
Taking to Twitter, senior Police official GP Singh posted, “Senior Assistant WPT Smt (name withheld) arrested inside Dispur Secretariat WPT Deptt today in a trap by @DIR_VAC_ASSAM acceting INR 4000. Another INR 99,000 recovered from her bag.”
There was lot of commotion inside the D Block of Assam Secretariat after the Vigilance team carried on their search operation inside the WPT and BC department.
