The new Assam Micro Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme 2021 is expected to assist around 24 lakh, women, across the state.

Digital Desk: Women borrowers have received incentives of Rs 1,599,16,59,592 so far under the Assam micro financial incentive and relief scheme 2021.

This was announced in a written reply to the parliamentary assembly on Wednesday by finance minister Ajanta Neog.

She went on to say that the state government has opted to provide incentives and relief under the scheme by categorising loanees into three groups.

So far, Rs 1,599,16,59,592 in incentives have been granted to category 1 loanees across various districts in Assam, benefiting 8 lakh 72 thousand and 740 borrowers.

According to Neog, the state government is now intending to grant relief to 15 lakh category II and category III loanees during the current fiscal year 2022-23.
