Notably, the Opposition alliance will kickstart its joint campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on January 30, sources said.

Digital Desk: Vaiko, the leader of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), reports that Mamata Banerjee has proposed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as the opposition's choice for prime minister. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has also supported the plan.

Kharge said, "Let's win first; the PM face will be discussed later," when questioned about the same.

The head of the Congress stated during a news conference held following the meeting that conversations had taken place over seat distribution in the states and that disputes between the parties in some states, including Punjab, would be resolved at a later time.

Notably, according to reports, the Opposition coalition would launch its combined campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on January 30.

This comes following the opposition leaders' fourth meeting of the INDIA alliance, when they deliberated about a range of topics, including seat-sharing, developing a unified campaign roadmap, and formulating a plan to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The December 6 INDIA bloc meeting had to be rescheduled when several important leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, and Arvind Kejriwal, said they would not be able to attend.

The fourth meeting is taking place in the context of the House suspending 141 Members of Parliament (MPs) from various Opposition parties, the most in one session, for demonstrating and chanting in response to the security breach that occurred on December 13 in the Lok Sabha.
