Bhagwat emphasized the importance of upholding "Swadeshi", family values, and discipline...

Digital Desk: Swami Prasad Maurya, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), criticized Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on Saturday for his remarks on 'Hindu Rashtra' and said India was never a Hindu nation.

Taking to his official X handle, Swami Prasad Maurya on Saturday said, "India is not a Hindu nation, and it never was. India is a pluralistic nation by nature."

"Our constitution is based on the idea of a secular state. All the people in India are Indian. Our Indian Constitution represents the representation of all religions, faiths, sects, and cultures, RSS chief wrote in Hindi.

Mohan Bhagwat declared that India is a "Hindu Rashtra," that all Indians are Hindus and that Hindus represent all Indians while speaking at the "Madhukar Bhavan" inauguration event in Nagpur.

"Hindustan is a 'Hindu Rashtra' and this is a fact, Bhagwat had said, adding, "All Bharatiyas are Hindus and Hindus mean all Bharatiyas. All those who are in Bharat today are related to Hindu culture, Hindu ancestors, and Hindu land, nothing other than these."

The RSS chief said, "Some people have understood this, while some are not implementing it even after understanding because of their habits and selfishness. Also, some people have either not understood yet or forgotten it."

Bhagwat emphasized the importance of upholding "Swadeshi", family values, and discipline, as well as the necessity to protect the environment.
