India bowled out Leicestershire for 244 on Day 2 after taking three wickets each from Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami.

Digital Desk: On Day 2 of the upcoming four-day tour game at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground, Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami each claimed three wickets as India bowled out Leicestershire for 244 runs.

With this, India gained a two-run advantage going into their second innings as a result. With a superb fifty before being bowled out on 76, Rishabh Pant top-scored for the home team. India made their declaration earlier on their overnight score of 246/8.

After the top-order collapsed easily, KS Bharat helped India surpass the 200-run threshold. Virat Kohli scored 33 runs; however, he was dismissed due to a debatable on-field decision. Shubman Gill scored 21, while Captain Rohit Sharma scored 25 runs. India had a scoreboard of 246/8 at stumps on Day 1 with Bharat (70*) and Mohammed Shami (18*) batting.

However, Roman Walker, who has yet to appear in a first-class match, got five wickets for Leicestershire. Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Hanuma Vihari, and Shardul Thakur were all dismissed after being walked out.
