Washington: The Indian- American doctors raise $5 million for Covid 19 relief to India. According to the leading organization of doctors of Indian origin, the raised funds were used for medical purposes.

The funds were used to accommodate 2,300 oxygen concentrators and 100 ventilators, including 100 high-flow nasal cannula tools, to 45 hospitals in India.

The American Association of Physicians of Indian-Origin (AAPI) is the largest ethnic pharmaceutical group in the US. The organization represents the concern of more than 1,00,000 doctors in the nation.

"The hospitality of the AAPI and Indian association members has been fantastic," AAPI President Dr. Anupama Gotimukula stated.

Reports state that the third wave of Covid19 is about to hit India by the spring of October. To cope up with the surge of the pandemic, AAPI is working hard to meet the requirements. The organization is linking up with several agencies and India's government to support the remote parts of India.

"AAPI will resume utilizing the leftover funds in anticipation for the approaching Covid third wave," stated Dr. Anjana Samadder, AAPI vice-president.
