Digital desk: According to data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, India's unemployment rate rose to 8% in November, the most in three months (CMIE).

"The urban unemployment rate increased to 8.96% in November from 7.21% in the preceding month, while the rural jobless rate decreased to 7.55% from 8.04%, " figures cited by news agency Reuters reported.

As per the data from the National Statistical Office, the unemployment rate for people aged 15 and over in urban areas decreased from 9.8% in July to September 2022 to 7.2%. (NSO).

The percentage of unemployed people in the labour force is known as the unemployment or jobless rate. Between July and September 2021, unemployment was high, primarily as a result of the devastating effects of Covid-related limitations across the nation.
