The day is observed all over the world by organizing conferences, seminars, and conversations on tiger conservation.

Digital Desk: Every year on July 29th, people all across the world mark International Tiger Day to promote tiger conservation. The day supports a global system for safeguarding tigers' natural habitats. It was established in 2010 during the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia when it was noted that 97 percent of tigers had vanished. Numerous international organizations, such as the Smithsonian Institution, the World Wide Fund for Nature, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare, mark International Tiger Day.

Over half of the world's wild tigers, or 2,226 them, are found in India, according to the World Wildlife Fund. There may only be 250 wild tigers left in Malaysia, according to the report, but all of Sumatra is now home to Indonesia's surviving wild tigers. The group has also demanded immediate action to safeguard the tigers.

The day is observed all over the world by organizing conferences, seminars, and conversations on tiger conservation.

The National Tiger Conservation Authority reports that since 2012, 1,059 tigers have died in India, with Madhya Pradesh having the highest death toll.

Congress invited people to get together and "increase efforts for conservation of the endangered species" on its official Twitter account on Friday.

The Congress posted on Twitter, "Let us come together to create awareness and increase our efforts for the protection of the endangered species as we mark International Tiger Day."
