Digital Desk: Punjab Kings won by seven runs (DLS method) in a rain-curtailed IPL 2023 match on Saturday due to impressive performances from Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Shikhar Dhawan, and Arshdeep Singh.

PBKS was asked to bat first and made a blistering score of 191/5 in 20 overs, with Rajapaksa smacking 50 and Dhawan scoring 40. For KKR, Varun Chakaravarthy, Sunil Narine, and Umesh Yadav each claimed one wicket, while Tim Southee claimed two.

PBKS then dominated KKR, getting early wickets before Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer gave the game some momentum. However, the duo left after scoring 35 and 34 runs, respectively. Unfortunately, rain interfered, and the match was called off, with PBKS named the winners by 7 runs using the DLS method.

The stars of this exciting match were Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Shikhar Dhawan, whose impressive knocks set the tone for PBKS's win. Arshdeep Singh also had an important role, helping his side earn a well-deserved victory by taking three wickets. Despite Tim Southee, Varun Chakaravarthy, Sunil Narine, and Umesh Yadav's efforts, KKR was unable to equal PBKS's performance.

The match had its twists and turns, with Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer delivering some much-needed momentum for KKR. Their efforts, however, were eventually futile as PBKS' bowlers proved too strong. The rain may have dampened the atmosphere, but it couldn't dampen the spirits of the PBKS players, who were celebrating a hard-fought win.
