The Bangladeshi government, led by Sheikh Hasina, issued an official statement condemning the incident and blaming vested forces for attempting to throw the country into contempt. However, he was met with resistance by a group of 15-20 persons (including Rupanug Gaur Das, the Principal of Iskcon temple)." "It has been learnt that ISKCON members had filed proceedings against Md. Shafiullah under section 145 of the CRPC in 2016, 2017 and 2021. Dismissing the case, the Court had issued an order allowing Shafiullah to take possession (ownership) of the land.
