Items worth 64 crore seized by Assam Election Commission

Numerous illegal items from all over the state have been seized by the Assam Election Commission. These items include liquor worth Rs.17.82 crore, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.2.82 crore, narcotics worth Rs.27.13 crore and unaccounted money worth Rs.12.17 crore. This was confirmed by the Chief Electoral Officer.

Since the election announcement, illegal activities have increased in the state. Illicit items are being procured by the police, excise, Income Tax Department, Narcotics Control Bureau and various other surveillance teams.
