Digital Desk: The registration deadline for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and diploma programmes at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been extended until May 25. Previously, the deadline for submitting JMI admission forms was May 13.

Except for the PhD programme, the registration date has been extended for all JMI programmes, including undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate diploma, advanced diploma, and diploma programmes.

The deadline for registering for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) has been extended to May 22, according to JMI. Candidates interested in applying for JMI programmes should visit the official website at jmi.ac.in.

"In view of the extension in the last date of CUET Admission form, the Vice-Chancellor, JMI has very kindly approved the extension in the last date of filling of online application form for all Jamia programmes like PG/UG/PG Diploma/ Advanced Diploma/ Diploma programmes and Foreign Nationals/NRI wards except PhD programmes for the academic session 2022-2023 from 13.05.2022 to 25.05.2022," the university said in a notification.

"The applicants who have applied for JMI programmes under CUET are also required to fill the JMI registration form on the university examinations website till 25.05.2022," JMI said.

The CUET will be used to admit students to ten courses offered by JMI. The university posted its admission prospectus last month, stating that online application forms would be available beginning April 14.

Because the dates overlap with CBSE Class 12 board exams, Jamia Millia Islamia is also likely to postpone its entrance exam. The new schedule is expected to be released soon.

"We have chosen to prolong the dates of the entrance tests because the 12th grade exams are currently in session and will overlap with the entrance exams. The deadline for applications will also be pushed back from May 12 to May 25 "According to Registrar Nazim Hussain Jafri.

According to the plan, the university would begin conducting entrance exams for disciplines not covered by the CUET on June 2.
