Security personnel from the Army and police conducted an attack in response to specific intelligence information concerning the presence of terrorists in the village. 

Digital Desk: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces on Tuesday in Anantnag, South Kashmir's Samthan Bijbehara area, the police officials said. 

According to reports, terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area.

In a statement, the Kashmir Zone Police said that "an encounter has occurred at Semthan, Bijbehara area in Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the spot. Further details shall follow."

Security personnel from the Army and police conducted an attack in response to specific intelligence information concerning the presence of terrorists in the village. There is a cordon around the location.

It may be mentioned that two terrorists were killed on October 10 during a clash with the security personnel in the Tangpawa hamlet of Kokernag, Anantnag district.
