Tushar Gandhi tweeted in response to Sinha's comments, "I have delivered a copy of Bapu's Autobiography to...

Digital Desk: Tushar Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson, recently turned to Twitter to challenge Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha's statements about his ancestor's scholastic qualifications.

Tushar Gandhi, on the other hand, gave proof of the opposite, noting his great-passing grandfather's two Matric exams, one from Alfred High School Rajkot and the other from British Matriculation which is equal in London. Furthermore, he obtained a Law Degree from Inner Temple, a law College affiliated with London University, by studying and passing exams.

He had also obtained two certificates, one in Latin and the other in French, which were provided to educate the Deputy Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident occurred after J&K LG Sinha gave the keynote address for the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Memorial Lecture at ITM Gwalior on Thursday, outlining Mahatma Gandhi's educational qualifications.

"Did you know he lacked any academic degrees or qualifications? Many people believe Mahatma Gandhi earned a law degree. He did not. His sole educational background was a high school diploma. He obtained his law license. He didn't have a law degree," Sinha stated, according to the news agency PTI.

In a following tweet, he appeared to take a shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the controversy surrounding his degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Delhi University and a Master of Arts (MA) in political science from Gujarat University, both of which opposition parties like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Congress, and the Janata Dal have questioned as being fake (United).

Despite Tushar Gandhi's rejection, Sinha's accusations had spread rapidly, sparking a public controversy regarding one of India's most renowned historical individuals' educational qualifications.

It is to be mentioned that, Tushar Gandhi objected to Sinha's comments, writing, "I have mailed a copy of Bapu's Autobiography to Rajbhavan Jammu in the hope that if the Deputy Governor can read, he can educate himself."
