Digital Desk: Actor and self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan was detained by Malad Police over a contentious tweet he posted in 2020. Popularly known as KRK, was detained after landing at Mumbai Airport and will appear before Borivali Court today (August 30).
Kamaal R Khan frequently gets into trouble for his tweets and blatant jabs at Bollywood movies and actors. Police had been looking for Kamaal for two years, but he was not in Mumbai. KRK was arrested on August 29 as soon as he landed at the airport. The complaint was lodged at Malad Police Station against Kamaal R Khan.

A lookout circular has previously been issued against him, according to PTI. An FIR was also registered against him in 2020 under various Indian Penal Code sections including 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 500 (punishment for defamation), and provisions of the Information Technology Act, he said.
In June 2021, Bollywood actor Salman Khan filed an application in a Mumbai court seeking that Kamaal R Khan be held in contempt of court for continuing to make disparaging remarks despite an agreement not to do so. The application was made as part of a defamation lawsuit filed by Salman to stop KRK from making or uploading any videos or other content that directly or indirectly disparages the actor, his business endeavours, or his films or other undertakings.
Regarding Kamaal R Khan's critique of the recently released Hindi film "Radhe," Salman had filed a defamation complaint against him.
