Digital Desk: According to allegations that surfaced on Tuesday, the husband of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha Secretary Indrani Tahbildar filed a case against Anurag Chaliha for his suspected involvement in the suicide case of the party official.
Under sections 120(B)/306/384 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the husband, Ritesh Tahbildar, filed case no. 318/2023 against Chaliha at Chandmari Police Station.
Anurag Chaliha, who had been missing since the previous night, was apprehended in Demow by a combined operation of the municipal police team and the Sivasagar police for his claimed participation in the suicide case of Indrani Tahbildar. After being apprehended, he was taken from Sivasagar to Guwahati.
It should be noted that Indrani is said to have killed herself on August 11 after her objectionable photo with an invited member of the BJP Kisan Morcha from the Golaghat district went viral on social media.
Initial reports indicate that the BJP Kisan Morcha Secretary allegedly committed suicide by taking a drug overdose. Around 5.30 pm, the incident was reported.
Additionally, it was believed that the aforementioned BJP Kisan Morcha official was having an extramarital affair with Chaliha, who was a tenant at her home.
