Kokrajhar, the administrative hub of the Bodoland Territorial Region, witnessed a solemn observance today as the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) jointly commemorated the 39th Bodoland Martyr's Day. The event served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by individuals in the pursuit of the Bodoland cause.
Leaders from both organizations, alongside community members, gathered to pay heartfelt tributes to the martyrs. The day is dedicated to remembering and honouring those who laid down their lives during the long-standing struggle for a separate Bodoland state and later for the creation of the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD), which subsequently evolved into the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
