A 19-year-old youth has been found dead at his friend's house on Saturday after consuming excessive liquor during a birthday party the previous night. The incident took place in Golf Green area in West Bengal capital Kolkata.
The victim has been identified as Riktesh Modak, who spent the night at his friend Kaushik Mondol’s place for his birthday. Meanwhile, Modak's mother has blamed his friend for his death.
Doctors said the excessive drinking caused Modak's death, Police said when Mondal tried to wake at Modak in the morning, he did not respond. Mondal and his family then informed the victim's family.
Modak was immediately rushed to a Baghajatin State General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The hospital later informed the police.
Police said they have collected samples of food consumed by Modak the previous night. Police have also filed a case of unnatural death.
During the enquiry, no marks of external injury except a blood stain from the nose were found on his body. Death certificate mentioned the consumption of alcohol, Rashid Munir Khan, South Suburban Division Deputy Commissioner, Kolkata Police said.
The victim's mother has filed a police complaint against Kaushik Mondol blaming him for her son's death.
