Digital Desk: A major police operation against a cattle syndicate network has been conducted in Kaliabor-Samaguri. During the operation, the police dismantled a large gang involved in the cattle syndicate.

A total of 20 gang members were arrested in Samaguri and Rupohihat. Four luxury vehicles used in the theft cases have also been seized during the operation.

Under the leadership of the Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Police Officer, an intensified campaign has been initiated against the cattle thieves after the preparation of a list of suspects.

Over the past six months, these thieves have been raiding cow sheds across various places in Nagaon district, using luxury vehicles to transport the cattle.

The thieves spray substances to render the animals unconscious before loading them into the vehicles for transportation.

Recently, the police had to fire at the vehicles during the operation.

This incident has prompted the police to further intensify their crackdown on the network. Notably, 103 cases of cattle theft have been reported in Kaliabor to date.
