The duo is accused of swindling money, including millions of rupees, from job aspirants by promising employment opportunities.

Digital Desk: Panbazar police took action against the president and secretary of the  Disabled Society of Assam leaders Semim Ahmed and Nabajit Barman for robbing job seekers of large sums under job placement promises in Assamese government positions.

One of the suspects was caught in a recorded telephonic solicitation for job payment that exposed their fraudulent work through a wide internet distribution. Both of them are facing allegations about their lavish lifestyle through funds obtained from money stolen from victims.

The Panbazar police received a complaint from victims after they reported the fraudulent scheme. Subsequently the police made these arrests. Panbazar police arrested Semim Ahmed and Nabajit Barman in the middle of the night at Bora Gaon located in Guwahati. Upon the arrest, the police confiscated both an unregistered Scorpio  vehicle alongside multiple documents about the fraud scheme.

As per the report,  Semim Ahmed has a hotel business in Bora Gaon and was looking to expand additional scams. He conducted unlawful activities in the Barkhetri region alongside his job scam activities during the Assembly elections.

During questioning, Ahmed made explosive remarks, about the need for big-name arrests from the scam alongside accusations against the victims of recording fraud to frame him. The police execute ongoing investigations into the complete network of people responsible for the scam while taking possession of crucial documents and additional evidence from the scene.
