Digital Desk: The District Legal Service Authority recently conducted a Legal Awareness Programme at Umtasor village in Ri Bhoi District. Aimed at educating the general public, especially students, on various important Acts, the event was organised by the DLSA, Ri Bhoi District, in collaboration with NALSA on May 16, 2024. 


The programme, held at the Umtasor Community Hall, saw enthusiastic participation from local villagers and students.


The focus of the legal awareness initiative was on key topics including "Free Legal Aid & Services, NALSA 15100 Helpline/NDPS Act, 1985/JJ (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015/POCSO Act, 2012/The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and Minimum Wages Act, 1948/Labour Laws."


The event featured informative sessions conducted by resource persons including Smti. B. Lamare and Smti. M. Namsaw, both Legal Aid Counsels, along with Smti. I. M. Moksha, a Para-Legal Volunteer, all from Ri-Bhoi District.
