Digital Desk: Famed Indian architect Balkrishna Doshi, frequently known as BV Doshi, died on Tuesday in Ahmedabad due to age-related issues. He was 95 years old at the time, according to media sources.

India's Architecture Digest took the news to Instagram to circulate and express condolences.

"Doshi, a master of shape and light, has left an unmistakable mark. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather who is a great inspiration to the people of his country, "the message stated. "For us at AD, this is a sad loss; and we will miss his boyish enthusiasm, curiosity, and humility that affected us all so deeply," the statement continued.
The master architect has worked for Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, among others.

He is also the recipient of the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan awards.

He was the first Indian architect to earn the Pritzker Architecture Prize, also known as the Nobel Prize of Architecture, in 2018. He received the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2022.
