Digital Desk: A lioness in an Iranian zoo killed her keeper while he was giving her lunch and then escaped with her partner, a local media reported. The couple roams around the zoo for several hours before being apprehended and returned to their cage. Reportedly, Esfandani, a 40-year-old victim, was putting meat through a feeding window when the two lions managed to open their cage. “The lioness, who had been at the zoo for several years, was able to unlock a cage door, escape, and then attack the 40-year-old guard who had just brought food for the duo.” a zoo employee told state broadcaster IRIB. “The two animals managed to escape from their zoo cage in Arak, Markazi province, around 200 kilometres southwest of Tehran on Sunday.” he added. As per reports, soon after the incident, the security forces took control over the zoo and put the two animals again in the cage.
