New Delhi: The National Capital is facing acute Oxygen shortage with hospitals sending out SOS calls as patients' lives are jeopardised due to oxygen shortage.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi reported the death of its sickest 25 Covid-19 patients in the last 24 hours due to oxygen shortage. Sources said that low-pressure oxygen is the likely cause of death. Meanwhile, the Director (Medical) of the hospital has issued an SOS saying oxygen will last another 2 hours.

“Ventilators and BiPAP not working effectively. Need Oxygen to be airlifted urgently. Lives of another 60 sickest patients in peril. We are resorting to manual ventilation in ICUs and emergency department,” he added.
