CM Sarma, during the festivities, eloquently emphasized the deep cultural connection between Assam and the epic narrative of the Bhagavad Gita. He said, "Lord Krishna is our son-in-law because he married Rukmini, daughter of Assam. Therefore our relationship with Lord Krishna is that of a son-in-law."
