  Digital Desk: After its owners announced the name chosen by its supporters, the Indian Premier League's Lucknow Franchise will be known as the Lucknow Super Giants. The official IPL franchise of Lucknow, owned by RPSG Group, opted to poll its followers, and owner Sanjiv Goenka revealed the name in a video message on Monday. “Thank you so much for responding so enthusiastically to the 'Naam banao naam kamao' contest. Thousands of people answered, and we are delighted to have chosen the name for the Lucknow IPL franchise as a result.” Goenka stated while revealing the name. "And the name that we have picked based on your ideas is Lucknow Super Giants. Thank you so much for your response and affection, and please continue to give us your blessings in the future as well." Goenka added. From this year onwards, the IPL will feature two new teams: Lucknow and Ahmedabad, as the lucrative T20 event expands to ten teams. In the upcoming IPL, KL Rahul will head the Lucknow franchise. The RSPG Group's purchase the Lucknow franchise for a whopping amount of Rs 7,090 crore while the new team Ahmedabad franchise is purchased by CVC Capital Partners' for Rs 5,625 crore.
