Digital Desk: In a distressing video, a 77-year-old man was thrashed by a doctor at the district hospital in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. The elderly man was then dragged across the premises of the hospital by two people.

In the video, a doctor, identified as Rajesh Mishra was seen slapping the old man and with the help of another man, Mishra dragged him. The video, which went viral on social media platforms, prompted strict actions by the authorities.

The old man, identified as Udhavlal Joshi, reportedly skipped the queue at the hospital, which triggered the doctor and he slapped him before dragging him towards the police outpost inside the hospital premises.

According to the report, Joshi, a resident of Chhatarpur, visited the district hospital for his ailing wife's treatment. Dr. Mishra, who was on duty, was attending to other patients. Joshi requested the doctor to treat his wife sooner, which resulted in an argument between them.

Joshi said that he was waiting in the queue but was assaulted by the doctor.

Hospital authorities said that strict action will be taken against Dr. Rajesh Mishra. Termination proceedings have also been initiated, authorities said.
