Digital Desk: The Guwahati police detained a man on Tuesday who was smuggling illegal drugs worth crores of rupees in a significant narcotics seizure.

The culprit was allegedly using an ambulance to transport illegal substances with a market value of about Rs 14 crore, according to the police department.

The box that was confiscated contained 50,000 Yaba pills and 200 grams of heroin. A Yaba pill is a crystal meth combination medication that is consumed orally or crushed and snorted. It is also referred to as the lunacy drug or Nazi speed.

Mirajaul Islam, a resident of Meghalaya, was named as the apprehended peddler by Joint Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta. When the police intercepted him, he was en route from Manipur with the illegal substances. The vehicle's final destination has not yet been determined. The Joint Commissioner told the reporters, "We've retrieved and seized 50,000 Yaba tablets, 200 grams of Heroin from the ambulance, and detained one person.

According to images provided by the police, they searched the ambulance with spotlights and found the narcotic load near the patient cot area.
