Digital Desk: In a shocking incident in Huliyurudurga town of Kunigal taluk, Karnataka, a man has been arrested for the brutal murder of his wife after she denied serving him dinner. The horrific incident, which occurred on Monday night, has shocked the local community and beyond.

The alleged accused have been identified as Shivarama and wife, Pushpalatha.

Shivarama, who works at a sawmill, has frequent arguments with his wife. On the night of the tragic incident, the couple argued over dinner, which escalated into a heated dispute about Shivarama's employment status. In a fit of rage, Shivarama stabbed Pushpalatha before decapitating her and skinning parts of her body. Chilling visuals from the crime scene depict Pushpalatha's mutilated body lying in a pool of blood, with her severed head placed next to her.

The couple's eight-year-old son was reportedly asleep during the horrific incident. Early Tuesday morning, Shivarama informed his landlord about the crime, who then alerted the authorities.

Ashok Venkat, the Superintendent of Police in Tumkur, confirmed the details, stating, "A 35-year-old female's body was found at the spot. Her husband was also present and during questioning, he confessed to the murder." The police have since secured Shivarama and sent Pushpalatha's body for a post-mortem examination.

Shivarama and Pushpalatha had been married for ten years in an intercaste marriage. Despite having minor quarrels, the brutal nature of this incident has left the community in shock and sorrow. The investigation continues as the police piece together the events leading up to this tragic crime.
